Try looking in Computer Shopper Magazine for some reputable PC makers. some of the Pc makers also have a pc config page where you can order one with They're either selling substandard parts, pirate Windows, or they'll be gone by the time you need service. Be sure to get detailed specs on what parts they use.

OK, so anyway, a few years ago my friend bought a "Top of the line" P166 Hewlett Packard PC from Office Depot - paid a pretty penny for it, too (something like $3000 with monitor). The CDROM drive is shaped to the case and can't be replaced except maybe by buying from Hewlett-Packard (it's a 4x drive).
